# Export and Import form

#### Export a form

* Go to App admin > Forms → click a form → Settings.
* Click the secondary action “Export the form”.
* A file like your-form-slug-form-export-YYYY-MM-DD.json will download.

#### Import a form

* Go to Forms.
* Click New → Import form.
* Select the exported .json file and click Import.
* On success, you’ll see a confirmation and the Forms list will refresh. Errors will be shown in the modal.

#### Notes and limitations

* Import will validate the file and either create/update the form or show an error.
* If the target shop doesn’t have matching integrations (e.g., missing Klaviyo/Mailchimp setup), import may succeed with warnings or fail; set up integrations first and retry.
* Export files are JSON text and generally small; keep them safe if they contain business-sensitive configuration.

#### Troubleshooting

* “Authorization” errors: refresh and try again (your session may have expired).
* “Invalid file” errors: ensure you selected a .json file generated by this app’s Export feature.
* Integration errors: configure required integrations in App Settings and retry.
* If issues persist, contact support with the exact error message.

## Querying This Documentation
If you need additional information that is not directly available in this page, you can query the documentation dynamically by asking a question.

Perform an HTTP GET request on the current page URL with the `ask` query parameter, and the optional `goal` query parameter:

```
GET https://doc.product-reg.varify.xyz/admin/forms/export-and-import-form.md?ask=<question>&goal=<endgoal>
```

`ask` is the immediate question: it should be specific, self-contained, and written in natural language.
`goal` is optional and describes the broader end goal you are ultimately trying to accomplish on behalf of the user. GitBook uses it to tailor the answer towards what is most useful for that goal.

The response will contain a direct answer to the question and relevant excerpts and sources from the documentation.

Use this mechanism when the answer is not explicitly present in the current page, you need clarification or additional context, or you want to retrieve related documentation sections.
