Overview

Warranty or Care Plans are additional protection plans that can be offered to your customers during the Cart or Product page. These plans are similar to Apple Care+ offered by Apple. When purchased, they extend the warranty for the customer's product.

Customers need to pay extra for the warranty plan created here. This is different from the free or mandatory warranty provided by the government (e.g., in the European Union, all electric appliances are required to have a 2-year warranty). For setting up free or mandatory warranties, please check our documentation at . If there is a free or mandatory warranty set up for a product and the customer also purchases the warranty plan, the product will receive an extended warranty.

Goal

After setting up the warranty plan, the following will be achieved:

  • When a customer buys Product A along with a warranty/care plan, Product A will be automatically registered and receive the configured warranty period.

  • If a customer purchases a warranty/care plan, it will automatically and retrospectively apply the warranty to their existing registrations based on the specified criteria and grace period.

  • If a customer buys a warranty/care plan and registers a product a few days later, the product will receive the extended warranty from the warranty/care plan.

Requirements

To ensure the warranty plan works correctly, complete the following steps:

  1. - This involves setting up a regular product, allowing you to control the price, product name, descriptions, etc.

  2. - Setting up auto registration enables the app to automatically register products when a new order is placed.

Note: make sure these requirements are set up before creating a new warranty plan.

How to create a new warranty plan

To create a new warranty plan, follow these steps:

  1. Navigate to App admin.

  2. Go to Warranty / Care Plans.

  3. Click on Create warranty plan.

  1. The warranty plan form will display. This is the warranty plan product that will be sold to the customer.

  2. Select the products that this warranty plan will cover. Then select Continue.

  1. Set the Configure Warranty Plan settings to the desired duration, usage, status, and grace period.

    • Warranty Duration - The number of months the warranty plan is good for.

    • Usage limit per customer - The maximum number of times a customer can use the warranty for eligible products.

    • Status - Set to Active or Inactive

    • Grace period - The number of days to retroactively apply the warranty plan to previously registered products. Set to 0 to disable.

  1. Once all fields are completed, select Create Warranty Plan to finish.
