Overview

Once the warranty or care plan product is created, it needs to be visible to customers so they can easily purchase it. This allows you to cross-sell it just like any regular product.

How to add the warranty/care product plan to the cart page

One of the most common places to cross-sell a warranty or care plan is on the cart page. When customers are on the cart page, they have the opportunity to add a warranty or care plan product that provides extra warranty or benefits for the products in their cart.

To add the product to the cart page:

  1. Go to Shopify online store > Customize the current theme.

  2. Select Cart from the dropdown.

  3. Click on Add section and choose Featured product.

  4. Select the Care/Warranty product.

  5. Adjust the settings as desired, then select Save to publish it.

Using app block

The app provide a native app block that allow you to have warranty plan selection for applicable products for that plan right in the cart

To get the above cart, you will need to go to Shopify admin > Online Store > Select the theme > Customize > Go to cart page > Add a new section > App block > Cart with Warranty Plans

Once the Cart with Warranty plans is added to the cart page, there will be two carts, so you will need to hide the original one come with the theme.

Unfortunately, due to the complexity of having warranty plans selections, its not possible to use the cart come with the theme, it will have to be the cart block from the app.

The carts will add drop down for warranty plans selections for the applicable products setup in the Warranty plans from the app

Alternatively simply add the products to the cart

Add warranty/care plan product to the product page

Another way to cross-sell a warranty or care plan is by adding it to the product detail page. To do this, follow these steps:

  1. Go to Shopify online store > Customize the current theme.

  2. Select Products from the dropdown.

  3. Click on Add section and choose Featured product.

  4. Select the Care/Warranty product.

  5. Adjust the settings as desired, then select Save to publish it.

This ensures that customers can see and purchase the warranty or care plan directly from the product detail page.

Note: It is good practice to test the functionality after adding the warranty products to the cart or product detail page to ensure they are displayed correctly and can be purchased without issues.
